Common questions about consultations, verification and treatment.
How do I know whether I need a psychiatrist or a psychologist?
A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who can diagnose mental-health conditions and prescribe medication. A clinical psychologist provides assessment and structured talking therapy. If you are unsure, start with a psychiatric assessment or use Ask RehabConnect to describe what you are experiencing — it will point you to the right kind of professional without making a diagnosis.
How does addiction treatment and rehabilitation work?
Treatment is medical, not moral. It usually combines a full assessment, medically supervised detox where withdrawal could be dangerous, medication to reduce craving, structured psychotherapy and relapse-prevention work, and family involvement. RehabConnect lets you compare licensed centres by programme, city and services offered.
Are the professionals and centres on RehabConnect verified?
A verified badge appears only after an authorised RehabConnect reviewer has checked a listing. Listings that are still under review are shown as “verification pending”. A profile being listed on another platform is never treated as RehabConnect verification.
Can I have a consultation online?
Yes. Many professionals offer secure video consultations that work well for reviews, follow-ups, therapy and family sessions. An in-person visit is advised when a detailed physical or developmental examination is needed.
Pakistan emergency guidance
This may need immediate emergency care. Contact local emergency services or go to the nearest emergency department now. RehabConnect inquiries are not an emergency service.
